PROMOS program

PROMOS program to increase mobility among German students

The University of Bayreuth awards partial scholarships to students of the University of Bayreuth for non-European visits abroad with funds from the PROMOS mobility program.

The application deadline for the following calendar year (funding period: 01.01.-31.12.) is 1 December.

Research Stays of undergraduate & graduate students / PhDs / junior researchers (Post-Docs) will be funded with fixed allowances for traveling and if they last longer than 14 days also with a fixed subsistence allowance. 

For undergraduate & graduate students / PhDs / junior researchers (Post-Docs) conferences are funded - only on application in advance - with allowances according to the “BayRKG” (Bavarian Travel Expenses Law), which requires a “Dienstreiseantrag” (trip application) beforehand and a “Reisekostenabrechnung” (travel expense accounting) after completion of the stay. It is possible to ask for a part payment in advance.

UBT International Office Scholarship

Scholarships for international students awarded via the International Office

The University of Bayreuth’s International Office has a limited amount of scholarship funding at its disposal thanks to programmes offered by the DAAD (the STIBET programme) and the State of Bavaria. International students and doctoral researchers can submit their applications for these scholarships to the International Office. The application deadline is 15 September for Winter Semester and 15 March for Summer Semester. These scholarships can only be awarded for up to one year.

  • Students (monthly scholarship payments: € 300)
    International students can apply for the scholarships starting in their third semester of study; scholarship funding cannot be provided during the first two semesters of study.

  • Doctoral researchers (monthly scholarship payments: € 400)

DAAD’s STIBET Programme
International students and doctoral researchers can also apply for a STIBET scholarship offered by the DAAD. STIBET scholarships are awarded on the basis of outstanding contributions in the area of internationalization.
